Work has been progressing on the Garratt as its entry to service grows closer.

The fabrication of the spark arrestor assembly has been completed, and lapping of the joints, to ensure a good seal, has been taking place on the large steam pipes that run beneath the frames and the super heater tubes, prior to being fitted. 

Work has also begun on preparing the pipe runs and associated equipment for the air braking system, which is required to make the engine compatible with our stock, once this work is completed the boiler cradle will go into temporary storage so work can take place on the two power units.
