Carriage No’s 14 & 15 are the first carriages that have been modified to enable wheelchair access. Car 15’s chassis and bogies date from the first batch of carriages, rebuilt to its current form in 1923. Carriage 15 hadn’t been used in service since the railway was privatised, having been rebuilt by British Railways as a Vista Car in 1983. When the carriage returned to service during 2018 it was in its original form as a summer car with modifications to accept wheelchairs.
